Responsible Gambling

Gambling should be entertainment with a budget attached — never a way to make money or recover losses.

Warning signs

  • Betting more than you can afford to lose
  • Chasing losses with larger bets
  • Borrowing money or selling belongings to gamble
  • Neglecting work, family, or health
  • Feeling unable to stop or cut back

Tools operators must offer

Licensed operators are required to provide responsible-gambling tools. Look for:

  • Deposit limits — set daily, weekly, or monthly caps
  • Time limits — session reminders and forced breaks
  • Self-exclusion — block your own access for a set period
  • Cooling-off periods — short-term account suspension
  • Activity statements — a plain view of what you have spent

If an operator does not offer these, that is itself a reason not to use them.

Age and location

You must be at least 21 years old and physically located in a jurisdiction where the operator holds a current license. Using a VPN to bypass location checks may violate the operator's terms and can void your account balance.

Our position

We earn money when readers sign up with operators. We accept that this creates an inherent tension with responsible-gambling messaging, which is why that messaging is permanent, prominent, and not dismissible on this site.
